Elevated levels of certain metals You can find elevated levels of many metals and contaminants with adverse health effects in ground water. Some of the more commonly found ones are:
Many metals are naturally occuring in the earth's crust, such as boron and arsenic. However, many more metals are leached into water sources from man-made applications. You may be surprised to know that arsenic and boron are quite common in shallow wells on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands of BC. For a more complete list see our Quality Guidelines page. Removing metals Reverse Osmosis uses pressure to force water molecules through a membrane while leaving dissolved contaminants behind. Whole-house filters are available for certain contaminant removal. Contact us for details. |
